The past couple of weeks in Rockbridge, have been very busy shooting targets and fishing. Our guided fishing trips have really been doing good. The sporting clay course has been cleaned up and is starting to look really nice.
Last weekend was youth turkey season. We had high winds, snow, sleet, and very cold both Saturday and Sunday. Despite the weather we managed to call up Twenty Three Gobblers. The whole weekend was great!
The regular season starts Mon April 21 08. This season should be very productive at Rockbridge. There are allot of gobblers on our grounds and the success ratio should be very high. There are still some openings for the regular season, and we can do a daily hunt for around 275.00 fully guided. Call for availability .
Rockbridge has also upgraded all flies and fly-fishing accessories, we have brought in Umpqua and Ross Rods and Reels to outfit all your fly-fishing needs. I hope this improved pro shop will better serve all your fishing needs.
Well That’s all for this week, Remember there is always time for the outdoors, so call or come by we would love to see you. Thanks for checking in on our blog. Josh kinkead

These past couple of weeks in Rockbridge have been very busy. The guided fishing trips we now offer have really taken off. We have also been very busy with our clay shooting including 5 stand and sporting clays. Today is the first day of spring and it is beautiful outside. Remember that even through spring and summer the hunt club has plenty to offer.
Last weekend I took the certified casting instructor course through the federation of fly fishers. Unfortunately I failed, however I learned through failing and next time I’am confident I will be able to make the necessary adjustments and pass. Again thank you to Dennis Dunderdale for all your help i greatly appreciate everything you did to help me prepare for the exam. Now I would like to thank the Federation of Fly Fishers for providing such a great certification process. I really am excited for another chance at the test, and bet that I do pass it. I’am after the master certification.
The fish are biting and the weather is beautiful so call or come by, we would love to see you. Remember there is always time for the outdoors and Rockbridge would love to help you spend your time.
Thanks for stopping by, Josh Kinkead

This week in Rockbridge brought many types of weather, snow, rain, hot & cold we had it all. Despite the weather we had some awesome hunts, one of which was an old friend of mine that I had not seen since high school. We went on 20 pheasant and 8 chukar, hunt and it was great all the way around and it was great to see John. Thanks you for coming down.
Spring is a good time time to get some shooting in on any of our courses, 5-stand, trap, and sporting clays. We also have time to get some last minute pheasant hunts in before it gets to warm.
Spring turkey season is getting closer every day, there are just a couple of spots open during the regular season and we have 2 spaces open for the youth season. These youth season hunts generally produce very good results with a high success ratio. Call for availability.
The Sow Bug Roundup is the 13th-16th of march, where I will be taking the exam to become a certified casting instructor by the federation of fly fishers. This is a great course of study and I’am very excited to take the exam. Again I would also like to thank Dennis Dunderdale who has coached me through this process. I truly appreciate his efforts, he is a true asset to the Federation of Fly Fishers. Thanks again Dennis. I you would like to contact Dennis here is his e-mail: dryfly@infodash.com

This week in Rockbridge was spent in preparation for “The Certified Casting Instructors Exam” administered by the Federation of Fly Fishers at the Sow Bug Roundup in Mt. Home Arkansas. This certification will help me to provide better instruction for those who need it.
I would personally like to thank certified casting instructor and guide Dennis Dunderdale, from Cotter Arkansas, for coming all the way down to Rockbridge to help me prepare for this exam. If you need a guide on the Northfork River you can contact him @ www.ozarkoutfitters.com.
The bird hunting is still plenty good, but the pheasants are the only remaining bird. Remember in a couple of week it could be to warm to hunt, so if you want to come down call and book your hunt now.
Still some room on the books for the youth spring turkey season. This is a great hunt for young people, and will excite them about the sport.
Well that’s all for this week, thanks for checking in and remember there is always time for the outdoors.

Good day everyone. This week in Rockbridge was very good. Bob and I did a quail hunt with a group from Mansfield. The group consisted of two young men and their father. These two young men did very well on the hunt taking numerous quail, but more importantly they were extremely safe and very adept at using their shotguns. This is a tribute to their father, and I would personally like to thank him for his effort, as I’am sure his boys do.
There are also still numerous opportunities to get some bird hunting in before the season closes. Remember guys it will be spring soon and to warm to hunt.
Spring turkey season only has a few openings left so hurry up and get those reservations made. I do still have plenty of room for the youth season however. Also don’t forget during the youth season mom and dad stay free, so call for pricing and availability.
Well that about covers it this week so remember there is always time for the outdoors, so give us a call or stop by anytime.

Good day everyone. This week in Rockbridge brought ice for most of the Ozarks. We had a group of hard nose shooters come and shot 5 stand for a few days, and let me tell you it was cold. The group had a good time and definitely deserve an award for toughing it out.
Turkey season is getting closer every day and i still have some availability, especially for the youth season which consists of a two day hunt. Youth hunt success ratios are extremely high, so give us a call for pricing and availability.
I know it is a long way off but rifle deer season is already beginning to fill up, but There is still plenty of room for archery season and Bob and would really love to see more archery hunters. I bow hunted the property this last season and did very well. Well guys that’s about it for this week, thank you for checking in and remember there is always time for the outdoors.

Good day everyone. This past week at Rockbridge was fairly slow, which gave Bob and I time to do some spring cleaning. We are also in the process of building a exercise yard for our bird dogs. This fenced enclosure will offer our dogs a great opportunity to exercise every day through our off months.
The weather is looking good for our upcoming week and there is plenty of room on my schedule to get some shooting or hunting in. Don’t forget that we now offer fly fishing guides and fly fishing instruction from beginner to the avid angler who needs a refresher.
I will be leaving for the outdoor show in Memphis TN on the 14th of February. The show is from the 15th through the 17th of Feb. I’am looking forward to this show to expand our hunt club, and if your in the surrounding area, we would love to see you.
Turkey season is only 2 months away and there are still some openings, call 417-679-3619 for our availability, and to book your hunt.
That’s it for this week and remember there is always time for the outdoors, and thanks for checking in I do appreciate you all.

Good day everyone. This week in Rockbridge we have been busy making preparations for all the spring food plots and getting ready for turkey season. This year we will be planting plots of soy beans, corn and sunflowers. This will enable us to hunt dove and help to feed and maintain our deer and turkey population. This preparation should produce great results and I for one am excited about the upcoming season.
However there and still 2 months of bird hunting left this season. The hunts this past week have been very successful. The club did numerous pheasant hunts last week and we really had some great hunts.
The weather this week will be snowy through Saturday, but as it generally goes around here ‘If you don’t like the weather, just wait 15 minutes and it will change’. Keep in mind bird hunting in the snow make for a really neat hunt.
Well that’s about all for this week and remember there is always time for the outdoors. Have a great week and come on in and see us some time.

Good day everyone. This week in Rockbridge, Bob and I did multiple hunts with the Roberts family. The hunts were very productive. Dr. Roberts grandchildren ranged in age for 12-17, they were all respectful and safety concious. Those young men have had, and have followed great examples. It was an absolute pleasure to hunt along side these young men.
Recently we have had numerous inquirys about guiding fly fisherman, and we are going to offer it starting now. We also will be offering periods of instruction that would be personilized to you, the client. Can’t wait to see you all on the stream.
The weather for the remainder of the week will be cold with a slight chance of ice and snow on Friday. I don’t think this will have any effect on the hunts this week. The fishing should be great as well.
Just a reminder, turkey season is getting close and Bob and I only have a few openings remaining, so give us a call. Thats all for now, have a great week and remember there is always time for the outdoors.

Good Monday morning. The Kansas City Sport Show is over and I believe we did very well for the hunting department. We had the chance to visit with alot of great people from Kansas City. I hope to see them all in the future.
I returned late Friday evening just in time to do a bird hunt Saturday morning. A few of my friends came up from Arkansas and we had an absolute blast. The weather was perfect and the hunt was great. After the hunt we had lunch and then took a tour of the property, where we looked at food plots full of deer and turkey. It was a very good day, and a great time was had by all.
There are a couple of hunts scheduled for this week, but there is room on my schedule for more. I will begin feeding the deer on the property on a regular basis. Don’t let turkey season slip your mind, Rockbridge has just a few openings left for the spring turkey season. Weather permitting, this season should be quite good. Well friends, that will do it this week. I thank each and everyone of you for checking our blog, and remember there is always time for the outdoors.
